Use a ladder to reach the motor of your garage door opener unit. Access the garage doors motor unit located on the ceiling of your garage. You ll see there are some switches inside it that dictate the code that s used to open your garage door. To reset your garage door opener keypad all you have to do is press the learn button located at the back or sides of the motor unit of your electronic garage door opener.

Take your remote and remove the cover so you can see the inside of it. If your garage door opener has a wall mounted keypad then follow these steps to reset its code. Press the learn button. After pressing the learn button you will see an led light steadily glowing for about 30 seconds.

If not just press the learn button found at the back of the garage door opener and hold it until the led light goes off. Change code on garage doors with a keypad. Let go of the button when the light next to it goes out. Depress the button on the side of the motor and hold down.

This is button is usually found at the back of the motor near the antenna. If you don t have a keypad on your garage door you can still reset the code so you can get into your garage.
